Who We Are

Seed of a Woman Foundation Inc. (SOW) aims to be the iron that sharpens iron to the woman that still needs to know that she is iron. We will uplift, encourage, and strengthen women who are looking to make a fresh start. Through the foundation of transitional housing, and service referrals, we will meet our clients where they are, while assisting them in finding their next level. As our clients put in their personal work, we will help them to flourish and develop the confidence to make positive change. As we give them a safe place to grow through mentorship, our women and children will learn how to make the decisions that allow them to be all that they were created to be.

Meet Our Founder

LaSonya Spearman

My name is LaSonya Spearman. I am the Founder of Seed of a Woman Foundation, Inc (SOW). I am a licensed Missionary. As third generation law enforcement, I have almost 30 years of experience. Some of my positions include sex crimes investigator, EEO investigator, Community Supervision, to name a few. I have worked closely with victims and investigated allegations of Domestic Violence throughout New York State.
